03/10/2006 UEFA Cup Some days ago I was in the Olympic stadium of Berlin. The local soccer club, called Hertha BSC, was qualified for the UEFA Cup. Many people weren't there, just about 15,000. So most seats were free and only a few kiosks were open to sell drinks and foods.
I was working at a kiosk too. We had the usual assortment. Sausage, burger, chocolate bars, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and all kinds of non-alcoholic drinks, but we didn't have beer with alcohol. So we had a problem.
The UEFA doesn't allow alcoholic drinks in a stadium. This might be a good idea but for a guy selling sausages and burger it can develop to a real problem, because nobody bought any beer! Have you ever seen dry fans?
We had more problems with the guests being dry then we would have when they are drunk. Argumentations started and I was their let-out. After they finish they bought a coffee and were happier than they were before. It's nice to help people, isn't it? |
02/12/2006 British Manner Sitting in a café near Hackescher Markt and drinking coffee I noticed many English
speaking people around me. Actually there were only Englishmen and me. I saw a group of three near
the window and a bigger group, about ten guys, close to the counter.
The smaller group, two women and one man, were reading a tourist guide called New
Berlin. For almost half an hour reading they didn't talk with each other and after finishing they
didn't speak about their new gained knowledge. In fact the group didn't talk at all except for
ordering.
Later I had to go to the lavatory. Shortly after I arrived there approximately
seven or eight dudes of the bigger group came into the restroom. Just to visualize the room was
made for five people. So there I was in between of a lot of English in a small room. Quickly
finishing my business I went back to my sit and saw that the whole group like they went into
the lavatory they came out. All seven or eight persons.
A little later I asked myself if that is usual British manner. They read
together the same guides but do not talk about same interests and guys go in big groups to
the restroom like girls do. What do they do in English pubs? Do all guests go at the same time
to the lavatory? So the pub is empty and the restroom is overcrowded? It might be a British way to
enhances social relationships… |
02/11/2006 Physical Education Two days ago I had physical education at school. It's a new class because the new
semester just started. So we started off running and the teacher turned up the music. It was a hard
time for us running and listing to the sounds coming out of the speakers. Not running was the difficulty
for us but the music. My teacher didn't have anything better than the Backstreet Boys. I mean how far
back in the day are these guys? Everybody was like: "Oh no… not these dudes. How can she torture us
with such nasty noises? I am so ashamed to be in that class. I thought it's an easy class." Luckily
we didn't run longer then about four minutes so we didn't have to hear the whole song.
Afterwards we had to stretch. We did some ordinary exercises, nothing special until
we had to wave with our heads. Now visualize about thirteen students standing in a circle waving
their heads like a walking duck. Back and forth, back and forth. If that wouldn't be enough we had
to turn our heads from the right to the left, so everyone could see the others from every angle. I
must say it was quite amusing to watch the others but when I think about how stupid I looked like
it's not that funny anymore.
What a great image would be employees of a Japanese company do their morning
exercise by waving their heads like walking ducks… |
02/10/2006 Hi everyone! It's a long time since content has been placed on that web site. Well…
Actually I don't have a good excuse. The only thing I can say is I hadn't had enough time and when
I had have time I was too lazy to do something for that web site.
Today searching the internet for some good and not explored web site I saw a very cute
little site. It contented some stories of ordinary situation but with a fine sense of humor and quite
amusing thoughts of the author. Since I don't really know what I should do with dehnhardt.com I thought
I could make something similar. Writing some interesting stories and make people smile would be a good
purpose for a worldwide known web site.
Well we will see how it develops and if you like it… |
